Dublin Town is buzzing. Tonight sees the big launch of one of the most talk about venues to open this year. in the space previously occupied by The Lost Society.

The place is draped in opulence chandeliers, ornate fireplaces and crucially, tons of amazing cocktails.

The waiters and bar staff are all kitted out in full 1920s garb, complete with peaky blinders hats, shirts and sleeve garters.

Check out our video invite below, how cool is this??

Rosa Madre Authentic Italian

Rosa Madre Authentic Italian in the heart of Dublin.

a review by Tapas Trail Dublin

Tapas Trail Review

Tapas Trail Dublin first came across this hidden gem two years ago under its previous incarnation as Caffe Italiano. We were out to celebrate as my wife Laura reticently got some very good news. Rosa Madre was the perfect choice. We stepped through the door to be greeted by Luca the ever friendly manager and owner. The change in atmosphere inside the restaurant was instantly recognizable. Caffe Italiano has grown up, spread its wings and hasn’t looked back.

LUCA Rose Madre Tapas Trail Dublin

Fresh seafood is the specialty, Luca and the staff know the produce in depth. Straight away we felt relaxed, you could feel the same relaxed atmosphere from the already full tables beside us. Luca arrived back to the table with a couple of complementary glass of procecco to start the celebrations. After a quick raise of our glass and the customary “Saluti” Luca reveals the specialties for the day and recommends to us some of his favorites.

Zaragoza Dublin Review

Zaragoza Dublin Review by Tapas Trail Dublin.

Zaragoza is cool, fresh and ultra modern. Some restaurants are known because of their great food and some are known because of their front of house staff. This is one of those rare places that give you both. The manager Dusan is a class act who exudes personality and charm. So much so that he was listed in the top 5 by LovinDublin in this years Best of Awards. After a visit here our guests on the Tapas Trail Dublin regularly say “my face is killing me from laughing so much” and that isn’t a bad thing.

Zaragoza houses the best Spanish inspired cuisine and uses only the best fresh local and international ingredients. The real secret is how they are prepared, by the world class international kitchen. Here the chef creates mouth watering bespoke flavours you won’t find anywhere but Zaragoza.

This is constantly one of the most popular venues on the Tapas Trail. Today I dropped in to try something new. With the launch of the new lunch menu I couldn’t resist. [Read more…] about Zaragoza Dublin Review

Caffe Italiano

22/06/2014 by tapastrail@gmail.com

Caffe Italiano – A taste of Italy in the heart of Temple Bar Dublin.

Caffe Italiano, this gem remains somehow hidden in the middle of Temple Bar. They serve Italian food and wine sourced directly from Italy. With a large variety of Salami, Pasta, Italian Cheese and wine. Your senses become overjoyed as you explore not only the flavors of Italy, but the quirky artwork on the walls, the jovial conversation of the staff who are mostly Italian. Luca is the heart of the restaurant and the staff his family. Order a glass of wine and you will be surprised with culinary delights that follow. Luca wants you to fall in love with his food and fall you will.

“Our philosophy is to produce fresh and delicious food seven days a week using the best possible ingredients, at an affordable price. Right in the centre of Temple Bar with its hustle and bustle of traditional Dublin market traders, you step into a little haven that is Caffe Italiano.”

“Excellent food!! And service was top notch. Had the seafood carpaccio for starters and lamb cutlets as main.. Both very delicious and the presentation was very nice. Portions are quite small but enough for me. I still had room for the cheese board after the main to finish off the wine.5 stars for the service!!! Will definitely return no doubt :)”

“I have eaten twice here, first time having read a review by Tom Doorley and it was great. I had breast of duck done to my liking and served with dauphinoise potatoes. On my second visit I had the steak again cooked to perfection….”

Caffe Italiano is a little slice of classic italian cuisine from cheese and cured meat boards to lamb cutlets with black forrest sauce.

Located in the crow street bazaar it has come from a small coffee stop to a growing restaurant where all the meat, fish and veg are carefully selected to the highest quality and are 100% irish and nearly as important as the food comes the wine, we have a very large selection of wines from Sicily, Tuscany, the Roero, Selento, Piedmont, Montepulciano, Puglia.

The shelves are lined with an unrivaled selection of more than 600 wickedly quaff-able wines, many served by the glass or to take away. We can recommend every last one.

We are pleased to have a wide and varied selection of cakes and pastries. Whether you need the perfect cake for a special occasion or a plate of cookies for your co-workers…
